Disabling System (Metro)

  1. Before proceeding, follow air bag service precautions. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS . Ensure front wheels are in straight-ahead position. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove key from ignition switch. Remove AIR BAG fuse from fuse block located near base of steering column. Wait one minute.
  2. Remove steering wheel left-side trim cover. Release the connector lock and disconnect driver air bag Yellow 2-pin connector. See Figure.
  3. Open glove box door. Pull glove box out while pushing left and right-side stoppers in. Release the connector lock and disconnect passenger air bag Yellow 2-pin connector. See Figure.
