A/C Compressor Clutch Control

Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls compressor clutch operation. When A/C switch is closed or when mode control selector switch is any A/C or defogger position, Body Control Module (BCM) sends a signal to PCM over Chrysler Collision Detection (CCD) bus to request A/C compressor operation. After receiving this input, PCM activates compressor clutch by grounding A/C clutch relay in Power Distribution Center (PDC). See Figure. When A/C clutch relay is activated, power is applied to compressor clutch coil, engaging electromagnetic compressor clutch.
