NOTE:
For models equipped with 3.0L, the right hand side axle shaft has a center bearing and a center bearing bracket.
Axle shafts use a Birfield-type outer joint and a Tripod-type inner joint. Axle shafts are splined to the wheel hub and secured by a spindle nut. Axle shafts are splined into transaxle, and are retained by a circlip. See Fig 1 . On some models, a center bearing support is used to connect a longer inner stub axle shaft from transaxle to inner CV joint.
