Disabling & Activating Air Bag System

WARNING: Unintentional air bag module deployment is possible. Personal injury may result. Never use memory savers when working on air bag system. Unintentional air bag module deployment is possible. Personal injury may result. Back-up power supply maintains air bag system voltage for about 60 seconds after battery is disconnected. After disabling air bag system, wait at least 60 seconds before servicing air bag system.

Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect and shield negative battery cable. Wait at least 60 seconds. Access and disconnect SRS-ECU connector. See SRS CONTROL UNIT (SRS-ECU) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. To activate system, connect SRS-ECU connector. Connect negative battery cable. Check system for proper operation. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
