Circuit Description

DTC 54 will set if A/T control relay circuit voltage is less than 7 volts after ignition switch has been turned to ON position, indicating an open or short in A/T control relay ground circuit. When DTC 54 is set, transaxle is locked into 3rd gear as a fail-safe measure and "N" range indicator light flashes. Possible cause for DTC 54 may be faulty A/T control relay, PCM or connector damage.
