Circuit Description
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
DTC 36 will set if PCM detects high or low resistance in Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) solenoid circuit. DTC 52 will set if TCC solenoid duty cycle remains 100 percent for 4 seconds or more. DTC 53 will set if TCC remains engaged (mechanically or hydraulically stuck "on") for more than 10 seconds while PCM attempts to disengage TCC. Possible cause for DTCs 36, 52 and 53 may be faulty TCC solenoid, harnesses and connectors or PCM.
When DTC 36 is set, transaxle is locked in 3rd gear as a fail-safe measure, and "N" range indicator light flashes.
