Vehicle Speed Sensor

Remove Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). See VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect a 3-10 ohm resistor between VSS terminals No. 1 and 3. See Fig 1 . Connect an analog voltmeter between VSS terminals No. 2 and 3. Spin VSS shaft by hand and observe voltmeter. Voltmeter needle should pulse 4 times for each turn. Replace VSS if operation is not as specified.
