Oil Temperature Sensor

Remove oil temperature sensor. See OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Place sensor and thermometer in container of ATF suitable for varying temperature. See Fig 1 . Measure resistance between sensor terminals as ATF is cooled and heated. With ATF at 32°F (0°C), resistance should be 1670-20,500 ohms. With ATF at 212°F (100°C), resistance should be 570-690 ohms. Replace sensor if continuity is not as specified.
