Removal & Installation: Camshaft: Installation

  1. Lubricate bearing journal and cam followers with clean oil and install camshafts. Install right and left camshaft bearing caps No. 2-5 and right cap No. 6. Tighten 6-mm bearing cap bolts to 106 INCH lbs. (12 N.m) in sequence. See Fig 3.
  2. Apply Mopar Gasket Maker to bearing caps No. 1 and 6. See Fig 4. Install bearing caps and tighten 8-mm bolts to 215 INCH lbs. (24 N.m). Install bearing caps before installing seals. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
