Reassembly & Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Using NEW parts as required, assemble pump. Install cover and tighten screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install relief valve, spring, gasket and threaded plug. See Figure. Tighten plug to specification.
  2. Prime pump by filling rotor cavity with clean engine oil. Install "O" ring into counterbore on oil pump discharge passage. Apply Mopar Gasket Maker to oil pump mating surface.
  3. Install oil pump slowly onto crankshaft until seated to engine block. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
