Mass Air Flow Sensor: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the air pump assembly, (Refer to EMISSIONS CONTROL/AIR INJECTION/PUMP - REMOVAL) .
  3. Remove 2 bracket mounting bolts. See Fig 1.

  4. Remove the bracket assembly. See Fig 2.

  5. Disconnect the electrical connector to MAF.

    1 - Mass Air flow Sensor (MAF)
    2 - Relay
    2 - Inlet Filter
  6. Twist the MAF sideways and remove from bracket. See Fig 4.

  7. Remove the rubber mounting.
