Adjustments - Wiper Arms
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Dodge Stratus and 2005 Chrysler Sebring. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
High speed, wet windshield operation, the right blade tip may override the cowl screen slightly. This is normal and should not affect wiper system performance.
- Lift arms and blade assemble to a over centered position.
- Turn ignition switch to ON or ACC position.
- Use LOW speed setting and cycle the wiper motor to the PARK position.
- Turn ignition OFF.
- Carefully lower arm and blades to the windshield.
- Measure the distance from the blade tip to the cowl screen edge. The blade should be 18 to 42 mm (.75 to 1.60 inches.).
- If not OK, check for worn parts.
- In the event the blade tip strikes the cowl screen or molding remove arm. Position arm on windshield and torque nut to 30 +/- 3 N.m (22 +/- 2 ft. lbs.). See Fig 1.
