Removal - 4 Cylinder

  1. Disconnect battery negative cable from remote negative terminal on shock tower. See Fig 1.

  2. Remove belt cover.
  3. Unplug field circuit from generator.
  4. Remove B+ terminal cover by spreading the cover with a small flat blade tool.
  5. Remove the B+ terminal wire and nut. See Fig 2.

    1 - B+ TERMINAL
    2 - CASE GROUND
    3 - FEED
    4 - TO PCM
  6. Raise vehicle and support.
  7. Remove the accessory drive splash shield.
  8. Remove the accessory drive belt, refer to COOLING - EXCEPT COUPE for more information.
  9. Lower vehicle.
  10. Remove the MAP sensor from the intake manifold. See Fig 3.

  11. Remove the generator bolts.
  12. Remove the generator from vehicle. See Fig 4.
