Hydraulic Cylinder: Removal

  1. Place the top in the up position
  2. Disconnect battery negative terminal.
  3. Remove rear seat cushion and rear seat back.
  4. Remove quarter trim panel.
  5. Remove cylinder mounting bracket and nut. See Fig 1.
  6. Remove pivot bolt attaching cylinder shaft to top linkage.
  7. Remove motor/pump assembly from floor panel. Holding motor/pump assembly with reservoir up, squeeze fill plug to release any air pressure from system.
  8. Disconnect hydraulic lines from the cylinder.
  9. Remove cylinder from vehicle.
