Section 81 (Speed Control - Except Coupe): Switch: Removal

The speed control switches is mounted in the steering wheel and wired through the clock spring device under the airbag module. See Fig 1.

IF REMOVAL OF AIRBAG MODULE IS NECESSARY, REFER TO RESTRAINTS - EXCEPT COUPE

- Remove the negative battery cable.
- Turn off ignition.
- Remove air bag, refer to RESTRAINTS - EXCEPT COUPE .
- Remove the top mounting screw. See Fig 2.
1 - TOP MOUNTING SCREW - Rotate steering wheel so that the switch is in the 6 o'clock position. Remove 2 screws from the back side of the speed control switch.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove switch. See Fig 3.
