Compressor Manifold And Gasket
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Dodge Stratus and 2005 Chrysler Sebring. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
To prevent the entrance of dirt and moisture into the A/C compressor, have all replacement components readily available to minimize the time the system must be opened.
NOTE:
The Visteon HS-15 A/C compressor has a replaceable compressor manifold which contains the fittings for the refrigerant lines and the high pressure relief valve.
- Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system. (Refer to REFRIGERANT SYSTEM RECOVERY ).
- Remove the bolts that secure the A/C suction line and A/C discharge line to the A/C compressor manifold.
- Disconnect the A/C suction and discharge lines from the A/C compressor manifold and remove and discard the O-ring seals.
- Install plugs in, or tape over all of the opened refrigerant line fittings and the compressor manifold ports.
- Remove the four bolts that secure the compressor manifold to the A/C compressor. See Fig 1.
- Remove the compressor manifold and gasket from the A/C compressor.
- To minimize the chance of compressor damage, go directly to the Compressor Manifold and Gasket Installation procedure.
