Mode Door Actuator: Installation

Install the mode door actuator onto the bottom of the HVAC housing. If necessary, rotate the actuator slightly to align the splines on the actuator output shaft with those on the mode door cam. See Fig 1.

Install the three screws that secure the mode door actuator to the HVAC housing. Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (17 in. lbs.).
Connect the HVAC wire harness connector to the mode door actuator.
Install the kick shield and the push-pin that secures the kick shield to the instrument panel.
Install the left lower instrument panel trim cover and silencer panel (Refer to BODY/INSTRUMENT PANEL/INSTRUMENT PANEL TRIM - INSTALLATION) .
Reconnect the negative battery cable.
