WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Dodge Stratus and 2005 Chrysler Sebring. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Perform the Heating and A/C System Self Diagnostics (Refer to HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING - DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING - HEATING AND A/C SELF DIAGNOSTICS) . If no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are found in the body control module (BCM) or the powertrain control module (PCM), go to step  2. If any DTCs are found, repair as required, then proceed to step  2.
  2. If the A/C compressor clutch still will not engage, verify the refrigerant charge level (Refer to HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING/PLUMBING - DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING - REFRIGERANT SYSTEM LEAKS) . If the refrigerant charge level is OK, go to step  3. If the refrigerant charge level is not OK, adjust the refrigerant charge as required, then proceed to step  3.
  3. If the A/C compressor clutch still will not engage, verify the BCM is receiving and sending an A/C request signal. If OK, go to step COIL CURRENT DRAW TEST . If not OK, repair as required.
