Removal - 2.0L

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Partially drain cooling system below thermostat housing level.
  3. Remove accessory drive belt (Refer to COOLING/ACCESSORY DRIVE/DRIVE BELTS - REMOVAL) .
  4. Disconnect and remove generator.
  5. Remove thermostat (Refer to COOLING/ENGINE/ENGINE COOLANT THERMOSTAT - REMOVAL) .
  6. Disconnect engine coolant temperature sensor connector.
  7. Disconnect heater supply hose.
  8. Remove housing attaching bolts. See Figure.
  9. Remove housing and gasket. See Figure.
