Clock Spring: Installation

If reinstalling a clock spring. Make sure the clock spring is centered (Refer to ELECTRICAL/RESTRAINTS/CLOCKSPRING - STANDARD PROCEDURE) .

  1. Align the top locking tab with the slot on the lock housing. Gently push into place.
  2. Install the multifunction switch.
  3. Carefully route the wires over the steering wheel armature and install the steering wheel (Refer to STEERING/COLUMN/STEERING WHEEL - INSTALLATION) .
WARNING: DO NOT CONNECT THE BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE. REFER TO DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING - AIRBAG SYSTEM  FIRST. FAILURE TO DO SO COULD RESULT IN OCCUPANT PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH.
