Catalytic Converter - Rear - 2.7L: Removal

- Disconnect negative battery cable.
- Raise vehicle on hoist.
- Remove entire exhaust system from vehicle (Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM - REMOVAL)
- Remove exhaust cross-under pipe (Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM/CROSS-UNDER PIPE - REMOVAL) .
- Disconnect upstream oxygen sensor.
- Remove nuts attaching converter to exhaust manifold. See Fig 1.
- Remove exhaust manifold heat shield.
- Remove catalytic converter.
- Remove and discard gasket.
