<< B >> Steering Shaft Assembly Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Dodge Stratus and 2005 Chrysler Sebring. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: The tilt lever should be held in the lock position until the steering shaft assembly is installed to the vehicle. If the steering shaft assembly is removed with the tilt lever released, or the tilt lever is released after the steering shaft assembly was removed from the vehicle, the steering column can not be reinstalled correctly. If the steering column is installed incorrectly, the collision energy absorbing mechanism may be damaged.

Ensure that the tilt lever is in the lock position, and remove the steering shaft mounting bolts.
