Test 52A: Right SIACM, Seat Squib Circuit Open (Active Code)

NOTE:
Prior to performing any air bag system test, go to PRETEST INSPECTION & DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
under DIAGNOSTICS. Perform TEST VER-1: AIR BAG VERIFICATION TEST
after all repairs unless otherwise directed.
- Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Access and disconnect right side impact air bag module connector located between seat back and seat cushion. Connect SRS Load Tool (8443) to harness side of right side air bag connector. Connect DRB to DLC. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Connect negative battery cable. Read right SIACM DTCs. If DRB displays RIGHT SEAT SQUIB CIRCUIT OPEN, go to next step. If DRB does not display RIGHT SEAT SQUIB CIRCUIT OPEN, replace right side impact air bag module. See SIDE IMPACT AIR BAG MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect negative battery cable and wait at least 2 minutes. Access and disconnect right SIACM connector. See SIDE IMPACT AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE (SIACM) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect SRS load tool to right SIACM connector. Measure resistance of Light Blue-Orange wire between right SIACM connector terminal No. 1 and harness side of right side air bag module connector. See Figure . See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If resistance is less than one ohm, go to next step. If resistance is more than one ohm, repair open or high resistance in Light Blue-Orange wire.
- Measure resistance of Light Blue-White wire between right SIACM connector terminal No. 2 and harness side of right side air bag module connector. If resistance is less than one ohm and no other malfunctions are detected, replace right side impact air bag control module. If resistance is more than one ohm, repair open or high resistance in Light Blue-White wire.
