Test 51A: Right SIACM, No Pcm Message (Active Code)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan, 2001 Dodge Caravan, 2001 Chrysler Voyager, and 2001 Chrysler Town & Country. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Prior to performing any air bag system test, go to PRETEST INSPECTION & DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  under DIAGNOSTICS. Perform TEST VER-1: AIR BAG VERIFICATION TEST  after all repairs unless otherwise directed.

Connect DRB to DLC. Turn ignition switch to ON position. On DRB, select BODY, BODY COMPUTER, and PCM MONITOR. Using DRB, read PCM MONITOR. If DRB shows PCM ACTIVE ON THE BUS and no other malfunctions found, replace right side impact air bag control module. See SIDE IMPACT AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE (SIACM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If DRB does not show PCM ACTIVE ON THE BUS, diagnose PCM and/or PCM circuit malfunction.
