WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan, 2001 Dodge Caravan, 2001 Chrysler Voyager, and 2001 Chrysler Town & Country. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Prior to performing any air bag system test, go to PRETEST INSPECTION & DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  under DIAGNOSTICS. Perform TEST VER-1: AIR BAG VERIFICATION TEST  after all repairs unless otherwise directed.
  1. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Disconnect dual-stage passenger-side air bag module connector located above glove box. Connect SRS Load Tool (8443) to harness side of dual-stage passenger-side air bag module connector. Connect DRB to DLC. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Connect negative battery cable. On DRB display, read active air bag DTCs. If DRB displays PASSENGER SQUIB 2 CIRCUIT OPEN, go to next step. If DRB does not display PASSENGER SQUIB 2 CIRCUIT OPEN, replace dual-stage passenger-side air bag module. See DUAL-STAGE PASSENGER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect negative battery cable and wait at least 2 minutes. Access and disconnect ORC connector. See OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER (ORC)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect SRS load tool adapter to harness side of ORC connector. Measure resistance between SRS load tool adapter and passenger-side air bag module connector terminal No. 4 (Light Blue-White wire). See Figure . If resistance is less than one ohm, go to next step. If resistance is more than one ohm, repair open or high resistance in Light Blue-White wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  3. Measure resistance between SRS Load Tool adapter and passenger-side air bag module connector terminal No. 3 (Light Blue-Violet wire). See Figure . If resistance is less than one ohm and no other malfunctions are detected, replace ORC. If resistance is more than one ohm, repair open or high resistance in Light Blue-Violet wire.
