Test 1B: Repairing Stored Codes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan, 2001 Dodge Caravan, 2001 Chrysler Voyager, and 2001 Chrysler Town & Country. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Prior to performing any air bag system test, go to PRETEST INSPECTION & DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  under DIAGNOSTICS. Perform TEST VER-1: AIR BAG VERIFICATION TEST  after all repairs unless otherwise directed.
  1. Ensure battery is fully charged and active DTCs have been resolved. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using DRB, erase stored DTCs, then use DRB to monitor active DTCs.
  2. Wiggle SRS wiring harness and connectors. Rotate steering wheel from stop-to-stop. Visually inspect related wiring harness connectors looking for broken, bent, pushed-out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Inspect harness for chafed, pierced, pinched or partially broken wires. If DTC became active, go to appropriate test. If DTC did not become active, erase all DTCs.
