INSPECTION PROCEDURE 4: The "THEFT-ALARM" Indicator Light does not Illuminate.: Diagnosis
Required Special Tools:
- MB991223: Harness Set
- MB991502: Scan Tool (MUT-II)
- STEP 1. Check the "THEFT-ALARM" indicator light circuit of immobilizer-ECU connector C-128.
- Disconnect the immobilizer-ECU connector C-128 and measure at the harness side.
- Connect terminal 9 to the ground.
- Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
Q: Does only the "THEFT-ALARM" indicator light illuminate? (other indicator lights are in good condition)
YES : Replace the immobilizer-ECU. Then register the password (secret code) and encrypted code HOW TO REGISTER ENCRYPTED CODE .
NO: Go to Step 2.
- STEP 2. Check the "THEFT-ALARM" indicator light.
- Remove the combination meter and remove the "THEFT-ALARM" indicator light bulb.
- Check the bulb.
Q: Is the "THEFT-ALARM" indicator light damaged?
YES : Replace it.
NO: Go to Step 3.
- STEP 3. Check the combination meter power supply circuit.
- Disconnect the combination meter connector C-101.
- Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
- Measure the voltage between terminal 1 and ground.
Q: Is the voltage approximately 12 volts (battery positive voltage)?
YES : Go to Step 6.
NO: Go to Step 4.
- STEP 4. Check the combination meter connector C-101 for damage.
Q: Is the combination meter connector C-101 damaged?
