How To Adjust The Belt Reminder Function

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Dodge Stratus and 2005 Chrysler Sebring. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. If the ignition switch has been turned on and the driver's seat belt has been fastened for six seconds after the ignition switch was turned on, the belt reminder function will enter a customize mode.
NOTE: This mode will be cancelled when the ignition switch is turned off, the driver's seat belt is unfastened for that period, or 60 seconds have passed after the mode was entered.
  2. Fasten and unfasten the driver's seat belt three times and then turn the ignition switch to the OFF (LOCK) position while the belt reminder function is at the customize mode. The tone alarm should sound.
NOTE: The key reminder tone alarm will override this tone alarm when the driver's door is open. In that case, stop the key reminder tone alarm by pulling out the ignition key or closing the driver's door. Then the tone alarm will sound to inform that the customization has completed.
