Interior Light Automatic Shutoff Function

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Dodge Stratus and 2005 Chrysler Sebring. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

This function prevents the battery from being discharged when the door is open or the interior lights (dome light and rear personal lights and foot lights and truck light) remain on with the ignition switch at the "LOCK" (OFF) position. The ETACS-ECU turns on its "keep" relay to switch off the battery power supply to the interior lights when the interior light loaded signal, driver's or passenger's door switches or, trunk lid latch switch remain on for approximately 30 minutes with the ignition switch ACC signal is OFF. Then the interior lights will be switched off. If the ignition switch is turned on again, the ETACS-ECU turns on its "keep" relay to illuminate the interior lights.
