Ignition Power Transistor Continuity Check < 3.0L Engine >
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Dodge Stratus and 2005 Chrysler Sebring. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
An analog-type ohmmeter should be used.
NOTE:
Connect the negative probe of the ohmmeter to terminal 2.
CAUTION:
This test must be performed quickly (in less than 10 seconds) to prevent coil from burning and ignition power transistor from breaking.
As described in the chart below, perform a continuity check on the ignition power transistor.
Replace the ignition power transistor if there is a malfunction.
CONTINUITY CHART
| 1.5 V POWER SUPPLY BETWEEN 3 - 4 | CONTINUITY BETWEEN 2 - 4 |
|---|---|
| Current flowing | Yes |
| Current not flowing | No |
