Pinion Factor Procedure (Avenger & SEBRING Coupe)
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 25 other vehicles, including the 2000 Plymouth Voyager, 2000 Plymouth Neon, 2000 Plymouth Grand Voyager, 2000 Plymouth Breeze, and 2000 Dodge Stratus. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
New TCMs do not have tire size input into memory. TCM may also be referred to as EATX module.
- Transaxle uses rotation speed of output shaft to calculate vehicle speed and cumulative distance travelled. Therefore, it is necessary to input or update tire size into TCM memory after TCM has been replaced or tire size has been changed.
- Select SPECIAL FUNCTION on Chrysler's Diagnostic Readout Box (DRB-III(R)) scan tool. Set scan tool to PINION FACTOR mode. Enter tire size (when replacing TCM) or update current tire size (change in tire size) into TCM memory. After performing procedure, recheck system operation.
