Instrument Cluster

Analog instrument cluster is an electro-mechanical module which receives its information from Body Control Module (BCM), Powertrain Control Module (PCM), Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB), Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) and Transmission Control Module (TCM) through Chrysler Collision Detection (CCD) bus. Instrument cluster contains speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, temperature gauge and warning indicators.

Speedometer contains a removable odometer/transmission range indicator (A/T). Various warning indicators are used to warn of system malfunctions. A printed circuit board provides power to gauges and indicator lights.

Gauges are magnetic air-core type. Speedometer/tachometer are one unit, and fuel level and engine coolant temperature gauge are separate units. When ignition switch is in OFF position, gauge pointers should rest at or below low graduation. Gauge readings are accurate only when ignition switch is in RUN position.
