Removal & Installation
- Remove axle shaft. See AXLE SHAFTS . Clamp axle shaft horizontally in vise with protected jaws. Using a drift, and tap around edge of shield until it comes loose from CV joint.
- To install, place NEW shield squarely onto CV joint. Position Installer (C-4698-2) and Handle (C-4698-1) over shield. See Fig 1. Use a hammer to drive shield onto joint until it is flush against joint.
