System Fault Messages
Once system fault message exists, the system fault message is stored in CAB memory. System fault message may be cleared from CAB using a scan tool. System fault message may also be automatically cleared from CAB after 3500 miles or 255 ignition cycles which ever occurs first. More than one system fault message may be stored at one time. The number of ignition cycles since most recent system fault will also be stored. This will also be displayed on the scan tool. The following system fault messages may exist:
- Trouble Codes - If a trouble code is present such as a wheel sensor signal failure, the Amber ABS warning light will illuminate and flash rapidly (1/2 second on and 1/2 second off). If equipped with Traction Control System, the Amber traction control warning (TRAC OFF) light be illuminated and remain on steady until system fault message is cleared.
- Hard Trouble Codes - If a hard trouble code is present such as a CAB power feed circuit failure, the Amber ABS warning light and Amber traction control warning (TRAC OFF) light (if equipped with TCS) will illuminate and remain on steady until system fault message is cleared.
