Test 12: Valve Power Feed Failure

  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, erase DTCs. Turn ignition off, and then on. Drive vehicle at greater than 15 MPH for at least 10 seconds. Stop vehicle. Using scan tool, read DTCs. If scan tool displays Valve Power Feed Circuit DTC, go to next step. If scan tool does not display Valve Power Feed Circuit DTC, go to step  9 .
  2. Turn ignition off. Remove and inspect ABS fuse No. 22 in PDC. If fuse is blown, go to next step. If fuse is not blown, got to step  6 .
  3. Turn ignition off. Remove ABS fuse No. 22 from PDC. Disconnect CAB harness connector. Using a test light connected to 12 volts, probe Fused B+ circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If test light illuminates brightly, repair short to ground in Fused B+ circuit. If test light does not illuminate brightly, go next step.
  4. NOTE: CAB must be connected for results of this test to be valid.
  5. Turn ignition off. Remove ABS fuse No. 22 from PDC. Reconnect CAB connector. Using a test light connected to 12 volts, probe Fused B+ circuit at PDC fuse terminal. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If test light illuminates brightly, replace CAB. If test light does not illuminate brightly, go next step.
  6. Turn ignition off. If there are no potential causes remaining, replace fuse.
  7. Remove ABS fuse No. 22 from PDC. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage of Fused B+ supply to fuse No. 22 in PDC. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair Fused B+ Supply circuit for an open.
  8. Turn ignition off. Remove ABS fuse No. 22 from PDC. Disconnect CAB harness connector. Measure resistance of Fused B+ circuit between PDC fuse No. 22 and CAB connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair Fused B+ circuit for an open.
  9. If there are no potential causes remaining, replace CAB.
  10. Turn ignition off. Visually inspect wheel speed sensor, tone wheel and wiring harness. Visually inspect brake for locking up due to lining contamination or overheating. Inspect all components for defects which may cause Signal DTC to be set. If any component is damaged, repair component as necessary. If there is not damage to components, test is complete.
