Park Brake Shoes: Installation

  1. Install front park brake shoe and hold-down clip. See Figure . Install the rear park brake shoe and the park brake shoe upper spring. See Figure .
  2. Pull rear brake shoe over anchor block until properly located on adapter. Install the park brake shoe lower spring. See Figure .
  3. Install the adjuster between the park brake shoes. Adjuster must be installed with the star wheel toward the rear of the vehicle. See Figure .
  4. Install hold-down clip on rear park brake shoe. See Figure . Adjust park brake shoes to an outside diameter of 6.75" (171 mm).
  5. Install rear hub and bearing assembly. See REAR HUB & BEARING ASSEMBLY  .
  6. Install rear rotor. See REAR BRAKE ROTOR  . Install rear disc brake caliper on adapter. See REAR BRAKE CALIPER  .
  7. Install wheel and tire assembly. Tighten wheel lug nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
