Power Seat Motor

  1. Remove and disconnect power seat switch harness connector. Connect a fused jumper wire to battery voltage. Connect another jumper wire to ground. Connect battery voltage and ground to appropriate terminals at power seat switch harness connector. See POWER SEAT MOTOR TEST (SEBRING CONVERTIBLE)  or POWER SEAT MOTOR TEST (SEBRING SEDAN & STRATUS SEDAN)  table. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . Observe motor operation. If motors operate in appropriate directions, motor and wiring between switch and motor are okay at this time. If motor does not operate or operates in wrong direction, go to next step.
  2. Check wiring between power seat switch and appropriate motor for proper installation, opens and/or shorts. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If problem exists, repair as necessary. If problem does not exist, replace appropriate power seat motor.
