Wiper Arms
NOTE:
During high speed wet windshield operation, right blade tip may ride over cowl screen. This is normal operation.
- Lift wiper arms away from glass. With ignition switch in ON or ACC position, operate wipers in low speed. Turn wipers off and let wipers park. Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
- Carefully lower arms and blades to windshield. Measure distance of blade tips to cowl screen edge. See Fig 1 . Measurement should be .71-1.65" (18-42 mm). If measurement is not within specification, check for worn parts.
- If blade tip strikes cowl screen or molding, remove arm. Remove molded keyway from pivot shaft by cutting or breaking it off. File surface smooth. Position arm on windshield and tighten nut to 27-32 ft. lbs. (37-43 N.m).
