Ignition Switch

Remove instrument panel knee protector and steering column covers. Disconnect wiring connectors from ignition switch. Using DVOM, check for continuity between specified switch terminals with switch in appropriate position. See Fig 1 . See IGNITION SWITCH CONTINUITY  and IGNITION SWITCH CIRCUIT FUNCTIONS  table. Replace ignition switch assembly if continuity does not exist as specified. See IGNITION SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.

(1) Connector C3 is only used for Key-In-Ignition Sense Circuit. Any time key is in ignition, continuity exists between terminals 1 & 2.
