Dashpot Check & Adjustment (Sebring Coupe & Stratus Coupe - V6)

  1. Before proceeding, check idle speed. See IDLE SPEED  . Ensure engine coolant temperature is 176-203°F (80-95°C), all lights and accessories are turned off and transmission is in Park or Neutral.
  2. Start engine. Open throttle until dashpot rod makes a full stroke. Slowly close throttle until throttle lever contacts dashpot rod. Hold throttle in this position, and observe engine speed. Engine speed should be 1800-2200 RPM.
  3. If engine speed is not as specified, loosen lock nut, and turn rod until engine speed is within specification. Release throttle. Ensure engine speed slowly returns to proper idle speed.
