Except for anti-lock equipped vehicles, standard equipment consists of double-pin, floating caliper front disc brakes, rear automatic adjusting drum brakes, master cylinder and booster. Rear disc brakes are optional. Front brake pads have semi-metallic linings. Brake system is diagonally split, with left front and right rear on one hydraulic system, and right front and left rear on another. Tandem master cylinder is anodized, lightweight aluminum. Bore should not be honed. Removable fluid reservoir is a see-through polypropelene-type plastic.
CAUTION:
Caliper pistons, boots and seals are not interchangeable. Using wrong components can result in brake system failure.
