Shorted Driver Door Ajar Circuit (Sebring Convertible)

  1. Disconnect driver's door ajar switch and ensure connector is clean and not damaged. Using scan tool, read door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays DRIVER DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display DRIVER DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, replace driver's door ajar switch.
  2. Disconnect Seat Belt Control Module (SBCM) connector. See Figure. Using scan tool, read door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays DRIVER DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display DRIVER DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, replace SBCM.
  3. Disconnect BCM 20-pin connector C5 at junction block and ensure connector is clean and not damaged. Using scan tool, read door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays DRIVER DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, replace Body Control Module (BCM). See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If scan tool does not display DRIVER DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, repair short to ground in Tan wire between driver's door ajar switch and BCM. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
