Shorted Driver Door Ajar Circuit (Except Sebring Convertible)

  1. Disconnect left front door ajar switch and ensure connector is clean and not damaged. Using scan tool, read door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays DR DOOR AJAR SW: CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display DR DOOR AJAR SW: CLOSED, replace left front door ajar switch.
  2. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) 20-pin connector C5 at junction block and ensure connector is clean and not damaged. Using scan tool, read door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays DR DOOR AJAR SW: CLOSED, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If scan tool does not display DR DOOR AJAR SW: CLOSED, repair short to ground in Tan wire between driver's door ajar switch and BCM. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
