ABS Message Mismatch; ABS Message Not Received; No Response From Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB)
NOTE:
Perform body verification test after each repair. See BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB). CAB is mounted on right inner fender panel of engine compartment. See Figure. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and CAB connector terminal No. 23 (Dark Blue/White wire). See Fig 1. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Dark Blue/White wire.
- Measure voltage between ground and CAB connector terminal No. 25 (Red/Dark Green wire). If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Red/Dark Green wire.
- Turn ignition off. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and CAB connector terminal No. 24 (Black wire). If resistance is less than 10 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 ohms or more, repair open in Black wire.
- Connect a jumper wire between ground and CAB connector terminal No. 20 (Violet/Brown wire). Using scan tool, select BODY, BODY COMPUTER, then SYSTEM TEST and perform CCD BUS test. If scan tool displays BUS SHORT TO GROUND, go to next step. If scan tool does not display BUS SHORT TO GROUND, repair open in Violet/Brown wire.
- Move jumper wire to terminal No. 19 (White/Black wire). Perform CCD BUS test. If scan tool does not display BUS SHORT TO GROUND, repair open in White/Black wire. If scan tool displays BUS SHORT TO GROUND, replace CAB. See CONTROLLER ANTI-LOCK BRAKE (CAB) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
