Oil Pressure Gauge

Disconnect oil pressure sending unit connector. Connect test light between harness connector terminal and ground. See Fig 1 . Turn ignition on. Monitor test light and oil pressure gauge needle. If test light comes on and gauge needle moves, replace oil pressure sending unit with known-good unit. If gauge still does not operate properly, go to next step. If test light does not come on and gauge needle does not move, check for open in Yellow wire between instrument cluster and oil pressure gauge sending unit or open in Black wire between oil pressure gauge sending unit and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If test light comes on and gauge needle does not move, replace fuel gauge. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER GAUGES under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
Remove instrument cluster to gain access to gauge. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER GAUGES under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Measure resistance between oil pressure gauge terminals "A" and "B". See Fig 2 . If resistance is not 40-44 ohms, replace oil pressure gauge.
