These vehicles use a new automatic adjusting mechanism for the rear drum brakes. See Figure . The rear drum brakes have no provisions to be manually adjusted and should not require manual brake shoe adjustment for the life of the linings. Although in the event of a brake reline, it will require the automatic adjuster to be reset. After resetting the automatic adjuster, the initial adjustment procedure must be done prior to driving the vehicle. Perform the following:

1. Ensure parking brake lever is fully releases.
2. Fully depress brake pedal as far as possible 2-3 times to allow automatic adjuster mechanism to adjust rear brakes. Apply and release parking brake lever one time.
