Instrument Cluster

Analog instrument cluster is an electro-mechanical module which receives most of its information from Body Control Module (BCM) through Chrysler Collision Detection (CCD) bus. Instrument cluster contains speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, temperature gauge and warning indicators. See Fig 1 .

Speedometer contains a removable odometer/transmission range indicator (A/T). Various warning indicators are used to warn of system malfunctions. A printed circuit board provides power to gauges and indicator lights.

Gauges are magnetic air-core type. Speedometer/tachometer are one unit and fuel level/engine coolant temperature gauge are one unit. When ignition switch is in OFF position, gauge pointers should rest at or below low graduation. Gauge readings are accurate only when ignition switch is in RUN position.
