SEBRING Sedan & Stratus Sedan: Removal
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air cleaner assembly. Remove dipstick tube, and plug opening in transaxle to prevent contamination. Cut transaxle oil cooler lines flush with fittings.
- Disconnect transaxle pressure switch connector. Disconnect input and output speed sensor connectors. Disconnect gearshift cable at manual lever on transaxle and remove bracket. Disconnect Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor. Disconnect throttle body support bracket. Disconnect oxygen sensor harness retainer.
- Remove rear mount bracket-to-transaxle case bolts. Remove starter upper bracket-to-engine block bolt. Raise and support vehicle. Remove axle shafts. See appropriate AXLE SHAFTS article in DRIVELINE/AXLES.
- Remove rear mount bracket lower bolt. Remove front and rear mount through-bolt. Remove front and rear mount-to-crossmember bolts. Remove front and rear mount and bracket. Remove front mount-to-radiator lower crossmember bolts. Remove front mount bracket-to-transaxle bolts. Remove front mount bracket and mount.
- Remove starter lower mount bolt. Remove starter. Remove torque converter dust shield. Place reference marks on torque converter and drive plate for reassembly reference. Remove torque converter bolts. Using wood block and screw jack, support engine and transaxle. Remove left mount bracket-to-engine bolts. Lower transaxle and remove engine-to-transaxle bolts. Remove transaxle.
