Description & Operation

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 1999 Plymouth Breeze, 1999 Dodge Stratus, 1999 Chrysler Cirrus, 1998 Plymouth Breeze, and 1998 Dodge Stratus. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: For Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) information not covered in this article, see appropriate ANTI-LOCK article.

Except for anti-lock equipped vehicles, standard equipment consists of double pin floating caliper front disc brakes, rear automatic adjusting drum brakes, master cylinder and booster. Front brake pads have semi-metallic linings. Brake system is diagonally split, with left front and right rear on one hydraulic system, right front and left rear on another. Tandem master cylinder is anodized, lightweight aluminum. Bore should not be honed. Removable fluid reservoir is a see-through polypropelene-type plastic.

CAUTION: Caliper pistons, boots and seals are not interchangeable. Using wrong components can result in brake system failure.
