SRS Warning Light Does Not Come On

  1. Before proceeding, follow air bag service precautions. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS  . Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  .
  2. Disconnect SRS-ECU connector. See Figure . Connect SRS Check Harness connector to SRS-ECU connector. Check for continuity between terminals 20 and 21. See Figure . If there is continuity, go to step 4). If there is no continuity, go to next step.
  3. Check SRS-ECU connector. If connector is not good, repair and recheck. If connector is okay and problem is still present, check harness between SRS-ECU and ground; repair as necessary.
  4. Disconnect SRS-ECU connector. Connect SRS check harness connector 3 to SRS-ECU connector. See Figure . Connect negative battery cable. Turn ignition on. Connect terminal No. 15 to body ground. See Figure . If light illuminates, replace SRS-ECU. If light does not illuminate, go to next step.
  5. Check to see if bulb is burned out. Replace as necessary. If bulb is okay, check connectors C-22, C-04, C-06, B-54, and B-41 (C-21, C-04, C-06, B-66, and B-49 on Talon). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair connectors as necessary. If connectors are okay and problem is still present, check harness between SRS-ECU and ignition switch. Repair as necessary. If harness is okay, replace combination meter.
